BLAH, BLAH, BLAH ... THIS IS THE PAGE WHERE WE
SHOULD SAY HOW GREAT WE ARE!
Let us not insult our customer's and our
visitor's intelligence and instead, let us get straight to the point
and just say the way things are.
1. OUR MISSION STATEMENT
We do not have one! Actually, we think
that coming up with mission statements is complete waste of time and
even more - displaying them shows absolute disrespect to the
intellect of our customers.
In fact, we browsed the internet for ideas about
this and found multibillion dollar companies saying things like:
"We are committed to being the "Supplier of
Choice" through product and service excellence. Our emphasis is on
being a responsible, innovative business partner providing
value-added services to our customers and suppliers worldwide.
Employees remain our most important asset. Through training in all
areas with an emphasis on technology; service and ingenuity will be
enhanced, promoting our long-held tradition of commitment to
service, ethical business practices, financial strength, and
flexibility."
1. Supplier of choice - or supplier of force. :)
2. Employees are our most important asset - as if they can not fire
anyone in just two seconds. :)
3. Let us not go further ... after all this page is about us. We
hope you understand our sense of humor here though.
Well, this is what our reality looks like:
We very much wish that we had wealthy
grandmothers who had left us obscene amounts of money when we were
teenagers and we never had to work for the rest of our lives.
This of course, never happened! After all, we are in Bulgaria,
not in Switzerland. Yeah, we went to the U.S., yeah, we got refined
education from some of the top schools there, yeah, we worked for
some of the top companies there, but that cost us dearly. So at the
end of the day we decided that we had to actually work for our
money. We also promised ourselves never to work for anyone else-
ever again! It was obvious that we had to create our own business -
that was the only other way.
Later, we thought at what is it that we do best and figured it was
web design and development. To our further misfortune, pretty soon
after we got in business, we realized that to make it anyhow in this
very competitive sector we had to work twice as hard, as our
competitors all around the world were quite good in fighting for
their own customers.
2. WHY CHOOSE SOFIA WEB DESIGN?
Honestly speaking there is not a single reason in
the world that should make one pick our company over another. The
truth is that web design is not exactly rocket science (well it is
not lawn mowing either) but there are plenty of people out there who
are good at it. There is nothing that we offer that you can not buy
from thousands of other companies throughout the world.
Still, we have to make a difference somehow. But how does one make a
difference with so many companies out there? Well, this is what we
came up with (and that is no joke):
1. We have to offer impeccable service to our customers -
things like:

well, clients DO GET IT on Monday, |

Clients want such and such done -
well, don't bombard them with paperwork but you just do it, |

Client keep bugging you with the
dumbest questions in the world - well, you are patient with them
and you are as responsive as ever. |

Your clients need a website but
have no idea about presenting it right - well, you improvise on
the spot and do your best to make their business look great |

Your clients tell you: "I would
like to meet with you to eventually discuss if you can help me"
- well, we go to that meeting well prepared, we have a mock up
for their future site in our hands already, we present classy
solutions.". If they buy it then great, if they don't - well, oh
well. |
2. Our charges must be lower - well,
how do we describe this best: if a company in Boston or in London,
for example, wants $100 for such and such service, then we
must be ready to offer $50 for that same service without
compromising the quality of it for a second. We believe we can match
that and still go out drinking on Friday night :)
3. We should be available for contact
practically any time - it sucks to get a phone call in the
middle of the night, but, oh well, we will take it and we will act
instantly on the needs of our customers.
4. We should know very well what we are doing
- when we say that we know MySQL databases - that must really
mean that we actually know MySQL and we can do what is expected from
us.
5. Our English must be spotless - in
Europe itself there are 20 + official languages. Imagine that! The
world is obviously globalizing quickly, however, the only known way
of communication among businesses worldwide seems to be English. We
must be able to help a Finish, a Greek, or an Italian business
present its business proposition to the world in the finest written
English that is out there.
6. We will value our customers and will give them discounts for
repeat business - We are in business for the long haul. And that
is not what company executives will say in front of the public so
that their share price will eventually go higher. Once we have won a
customer - we will do our best to keep him! Hey, we need
paychecks just like anyone else - imagine how cranky our wives will
be if we bring nothing home :)
This is what we believe in - if businesses
indeed give us the privilege of picking us over the others out
there, then we will be honored and will do our best to serve them
right!
